Description
Reporting to the Chief Legal Counsel and assisting the Legal department, the Compliance Assistant\'s main responsibilities will be to:

Undertake legal and regulatory research, provide corporate secretarial assistance and provide administrative support to the Chief Legal COunsel and legal team. Specific tasks include assisting with the preparation of legal documents, preparing Board materials, filing annual reports and maintaining minute books, assisting in regulatory filing, undertaking project work, routing or answering correspondence, maintaining legal files, circulating bulletins and compliance material, maintaining precedent documents for department and updating as necessary, and organizing and expediting work flow through the department.

Qualifications
- High School diploma and:
-(a) either two years of post-secondary education at a community college diploma level as a Legal Assistant; or
- (b) three to five years related experience;
- Strong computer skills with experience working in a Windows environment on a local area network including familiarity with file naming conventions, creating directories, copying and transfering files and with PC applications such as MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Access;
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- A team player.
